We have made every effort to display and photograph the products featured as clearly, accurately, and from as many different angles as possible to highlight its features, any damage, or other imperfections that may be present. However, the lighting and photographic techniques we use, as well as the display and colour capabilities of your particular computer monitor, may affect the colours you actually see on the screen. Steed & Fox cannot be held responsible for any limitations of your monitor and cannot guarantee that your monitor's display of any colour, texture, or detail of merchandise will be accurate and or the same as the actual product.

We strongly encourage our customers to closely inspect all the item photos, descriptions, and other details before purchasing any item.

We take the utmost care when describing all our items but sometimes errors can occur.
All the pieces we sell are vintage or antique and will inevitably show signs of age and use-related wear even if very minor. Such imperfections, defects, and damage may include; scrapes, scratches, rust, surface pitting, tarnishing, discolouration, flaking paint, paint loss/fading, dings and dents, chips, cracks, crazing, and general wear caused by weathering.
Whilst we endeavour to provide high-quality photographs from many angles to highlight its features, any damage, and other imperfections that may be present. We always aim to describe any significant condition issues as accurately as possible in the condition report, but the photographs will always be better than any written description we can give. Please remember that descriptions are formulated in the opinion of an individual and are therefore subjective and can be open to interpretation so please check specifics if you have any concerns. Colours may appear different on different computer monitors due to a wide variety of resolution qualities on different computer screens and in other lighting environments. If there are scuffs, scratches, fading, rust marks or other faults it will be stated as much as possible in the item description, however, it may not always be possible to list every one of these but will try to explain the extent together with close-up pics of any faults or flaws. Please refer to the photos, zoom in, enlarge them and study all the photos carefully as they form the main part of the item description and condition report to make your own analysis of the condition etc.
Measurement & Weight
The measurements and weights stated are approximate and may vary slightly. We try to give accurate measurements but please ask us to double-check if space is an issue as mistakes are possible. Item dimensions are usually shown as height, width, and depth. Measurements are taken at the widest, deepest, tallest, and longest points unless otherwise stated. Electrical Items
All our vintage electrical items are graded as working, not working, for spare parts or repair. We strongly recommend that all electrical items are checked by a qualified electrician and rewired, if necessary, before use.
Before you order
Please check your order to ensure the accuracy of the sizes, especially when buying items of furniture, it is really important that you make a note of the dimensions of the item to check if it will fit where you want it to go. Finally, please study all the photos supplied carefully to satisfy yourself that you are happy with the condition of the item before placing your order.
Can I cancel an order?
If a customer changes their mind or decides for any reason that they don’t want to purchase the item before it has been dispatched, they can do so by sending us a message.
If a customer cancels an order after it has been dispatched for delivery, the costs of delivery are non-refundable. Under these circumstances, the customer is responsible for organising the return of the item and for paying the delivery cost.
How you can cancel this agreement
Please contact us as soon as possible if you wish to cancel your agreement, you can do so by clicking Contact Us. Orders can only be cancelled before processing or before the dispatch has begun. Due to the speed at which we process orders, we may not always be able to cancel an order before it ships.
Once your order has been successfully cancelled and agreed upon by Steed and Fox, any sum debited from your payment card by us will be re-credited to your account as soon as possible, usually within 14 business days.
How Steed and Fox can cancel this agreement
We reserve the right to cancel the order if:
We are unable to obtain payment
We do not deliver to your area
A product fault or an error in the product description has been identified
Can I return an item?
Due to the nature of the business, our items are non-returnable unless the item once received is deemed not to be as described on our website, is faulty (i.e., not working but was described to be in working order), the item arrives damaged or the incorrect product was shipped. Under these circumstances, shipping and handling charges will be refunded and Steed and Fox will cover the cost of returning the item(s).
Please note that vintage items are not sold as new and are likely to show signs of wear and tear no matter how minor and this is not sufficient grounds to request a return and a refund. With this in mind, we recommend you read the item condition description and study all the photos carefully to satisfy yourself as to its condition before purchase.
A customer may not return an item for an “inaccurate listing” reason when its dimensions or other characteristics do not fit its requirements. We strongly recommend that the buyer measures all access areas prior to making a purchase. If in doubt contact us.
Acting under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, customers may return faulty goods, goods damaged in transit or when the listing on the website is materially inaccurate, misleading, or misrepresents the goods. In these cases, the customer must provide photographic evidence to Steed and Fox.
We may refuse a return of an item if it has been altered by the customer in any way.
We are not liable for any damages or loss sustained in transit via third parties when the collection has been arranged by the customer.
Goods must be returned before a refund can be processed. The goods are your responsibility until they reach our warehouse. Under the terms set out above, you can return an item for a refund up to 14 days after receiving your original order. Any returns request received outside of this time will not be accepted. Please allow up to 14 business days to process your return.
To initiate a return, the customer must send a message by clicking Contact Us. In the return request, the reason for the return must be included along with photos of the faulty or damaged item(s).

Product pricing

In the very rare event of a product price discrepancy, the purchase price of the product on the Steed & Fox website prevails over the price that may appear on the delivery or product packaging. You will always be charged the price that is displayed on the checkout page. If the price is reduced after you purchased the item at full price, we cannot refund the difference. If you become a subscriber to our Steed and Fox newsletter, we will endeavour to inform you at least 12 hours prior to any promotional activity that will take place on our website, however in exceptional circumstances promotions on our website may be added without prior notice.

The copyright and ownership rights (including design, text, logos, graphics, software, and photographs) are owned by Steed and Fox.
You must not allow others to copy, publish, or distribute any of the content of this website. You must not make any copy of this website for any business-related use whatsoever.

Items damaged in transit
Occasionally, items such as furniture may experience minor damage during shipping. Please take your time and inspect all items of furniture upon delivery and denote any damage on the delivery note as this will help in any claims process.
Orders lost in transit
For orders that are lost in transit using Royal Mail, 14 days have to pass from the date of dispatch before an investigation can be opened. Ninety per cent of the time a lost parcel will eventually be returned to Steed and Fox as not called for from a local sorting office so please visit your sorting Office Depot, not your local post office to check if a parcel is being held for you. Once 14 days have passed, we can then open an investigation. We will not refund any parcel that is lost in transit before the 14 days have passed.

Email confirmation
Once your order has been received you will receive a confirmation email. Your order is an offer to us to purchase a product and is accepted upon dispatch. This will be confirmed by a dispatch confirmation email. Steed & Fox reserves the right not to accept your order for any reason whatsoever including, but not limited to payment problems, product availability and not meeting our eligibility criteria.
Payment
All prices on our site are listed in Pounds Sterling £(GBP). You can pay for your order using all major Credit/Debit Cards, PayPal, or Cash when collecting items in person. Payment can be made by PayPal, Credit/Debit Cards or Cash if the item is collected in person.
Payment problems
In the event of a problem collecting payment from a debit/credit card once we have confirmed receipt of your order, we will not be obliged to dispatch the order. This may be due to the payment being declined or because of a technical error.
If you are using a valid card and still experience problems, please try ordering again with the same card or place a separate order using an alternative card.
Security checks
Steed & Fox takes card fraud seriously and for your protection, it is our policy to conduct security checks on all orders. This may involve contacting you by telephone before your order is processed.
We also retain the services of credit rating and card fraud prevention companies and may share details of your order with them in order to prevent the fraudulent use of your credit/debit cards. Promotional codes
We cannot retrospectively apply a promotional code to your order. If you place an order without correctly applying the promotional code, or if you receive a promotional code through mail correspondence, a marketing email or a social media promotion after you have placed an order, we will be unable to reimburse you the discount regardless of how recently said order was placed. If you are having difficulty applying your code or believe your code to be faulty, please contact our customer service team by email.
If you receive a promotional code through mail correspondence, a marketing email or social media promotion, you must use the code before the promotion in question expires in order to receive your discount. We cannot accept promotional codes after their stated expiry date. Expiry dates for promotional codes always, unless stated otherwise, refer to the end of the day on which the code expires. For example, a promotional code or discount ending on June 5th will cease to work after 23:59 on June 5th. Voucher codes cannot be used in conjunction with any form of cashback.
